Call for Applications for Legal Researcher at the IJLS (on a contractual basis for a period of one year)
The Institute for Judicial and Legal Studies, a body corporate set up under the Institute for Judicial and Legal Studies Act 2011 and under the aegis of the Judiciary, is inviting applications from eligible candidates in Mauritius as Legal Researcher for a period of one year (renewable) at the Institute.
Candidates must hold a recognized law degree. They should be computer literate and fluent in English and French. Experience in the legal field is desirable.
A monthly salary of Rs25,525/- will be paid to the successful candidate. The contract may be terminated in case of misconduct or unsatisfactory performance.
Legal Researchers, in addition to fixed emoluments, will benefit from the intellectual discourses which take place at the IJLS through the medium of CPD courses as well as workshops on policy issues for professional development, taught by local and internationally renowned scholars and policy experts.
The closing date for submission of application is Thursday 30th September 2021 at 15.00 hours (local time). Interested candidates must forward their application along with detailed CV to the Chairperson, Institute for Judicial and Legal Studies, 6th Floor, Happy World House, Sir William Newton Street, Port Louis. Applications received after the specified closing date and time will not be considered.
Selected applicants will be called for an interview by the Selection Committee. The IJLS reserves the right to convene only the best qualified candidates and not to make any appointment as a result of this advertisement.
