CPD Certificates

Dear Law Practitioners,

Certificates have been issued for those who have completed the mandatory CPD points for the academic year 2016-2017. You are kindly requested to collect same from the IJLS on working days from 0930hrs to 1530hrs excluding lunch time from 1200hrs to 1300hrs. It is not necessary to come in person and you may nominate someone on your behalf to collect the certificate.

Suggestions for subjects or thematic areas

Dear Law Practitioners,

In its endeavour to conduct CPD sessions for the legal profession, the IJLS kindly invites you to propose subjects or thematic areas deemed of particular relevance and interest to you.  The objective of this exercise is to enable the IJLS to devise instrumental sessions aimed at broadening and enhancing the volume of knowledge of members of the legal profession.  In the same vein, it will enable law practitioners and legal officers to stay up-to-date with the latest developments and trends in the law.  

Your suggestions in this context are of key importance and the IJLS thanks you for your valuable contribution.

Kindly note that from 1st of March 2017, you are requested to keep track of your respective CPD hours and to keep a record of all the courses you have applied for and/or attended. The course schedule is available on the website of the IJLS for your perusal.

It is your sole responsibility to do needful and IJLS secretariat will not be liable in any manner whatsoever in case of miscalculation/ wrong calculation at your end of CPD hours.

8th Induction Course for Prospective Barristers

The IJLS is organizing its eighth induction course as mandated under section 5A (6) of the Law Practitioners Act 2011.  The course will begin on 3rd April 2017 and will conclude on 5th June 2017.  Those of you who are required to undertake this course must submit the registration form, a copy of the ID card and the last educational qualification certificate at the IJLS and also deposit a course fee of MUR 5000 (by cheque payable to the Institute for Judicial and Legal Studies) before Friday 10th March 2016.  Kindly go through the course schedule on the website of the IJLS. The registration form is available on the website.  In order to get the certificate of attendance, the full course has to be followed and absence from classes will disqualify for certificate.

The IJLS reserves the right to postpone or prepone any course subject to the availability of the resource person.
