Mrs Prameeta D. R. Goordyal-Chittoo, Assistant Solicitor General

Brief bio-profile of resource person:

Mrs Prameeta Devi Rasheela Goordyal-Chittoo read Law at the University of Mauritius and  cleared her bar examinations with flying colours in 1994. She also did her Post Graduate Degree in Human Rights from the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL) in Belgium.

Mrs Goordyal-Chittoo has worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as the Second Secretary before joining Sir Hamid Moollan’s Chambers, where she practiced as a barrister until November 1998. In December 1998, she joined the Attorney General’s Office as  State Counsel. She is currently the Assistant Solicitor General and handles Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law files as well as files in relation to the African Union. She is also the desk officer for Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Agro Industry and Food Security, Passport and Immigration Office, and Commissioner of Police, amongst others.
